Our Activities

The foundation encourages young artists, and enthusiasts, to showcase their talents, establish themselves and present their work. Ray also provides the opportunity of establishing international connections through cooperation with various donor and arts organizations. "Ray" also plans to organize thematic master classes and academic exchange courses.

Music

The uniqueness of Georgian music is a time-tested, world-recognized event. We believe that its rich past and promising future will create a completely new, characteristic, diverse harmony.

The foundation's music direction aims to discover, identify and promote young musicians endowed with talent in composition. Under this goal, the foundation will hold an annual competition for composers. The music direction will be integrated with the Bidzina Kvernadze Festival-Competition and will be held with the support of the Tbilisi State Conservatory. The activities of the foundation also include the promotion of musicians of different specialties.

Composers in the field of academic and applied music will have the opportunity to participate in the competition. The winners will be invited to a mentoring program organized by the "Ray" Foundation, which also includes the process of creating and refining scenarios. The competition will be held annually in September and its winners will receive financial support from the foundation.

Drama - Dramaturgy

Drama and Dramaturgy is one of the most important fields for the foundation, which includes two directions: the competition of screenplays and theatrical dramaturgical works. Both competitions are open to undergraduate and graduate students at accredited universities in Georgia, as well as to schoolchildren who wish to submit their applications and try out opportunities, both locally and internationally.

Within the framework of these competitions, professionals working in the field of drama-dramaturgy will reveal the best works, including the winners. Authors will have the opportunity to work with experienced playwrights to develop their projects. "Ray" will help them to refine the structure of the script, its form, and its message. Also, the foundation will help development in creating the appropriate sound, framing, visual, or translation. The fund will support the presentation of already implemented projects at international conferences and will work to find donors.

The competition will be held annually in October.

Literature

Students and pupils from the age of 16 can participate in the literature competition. Based on the submission of prose and poetic works, several best works will be identified. Winners will be awarded a cash prize, as well as printed versions of their writings.

The competition will be held annually in November.

All three competition areas are valid for participants under 16-40 years. Such a restriction allows young artists to go through the first stages of development with the support and assistance of the Ray Foundation.
